"As a result of the repatriation efforts, 501 bodies of the deceased have been returned to Ukraine. According to the russian side, they may belong to Ukrainian service members", - the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on social media on July 16.
It is noted that investigators from law enforcement agencies, together with representatives of forensic institutions, will carry out all the necessary procedures to identify the repatriated bodies.
The repatriation operation was carried out through the joint efforts of representatives of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other agencies of Ukraine's security and defense sector.
