The Federal Prosecutor's Office of Germany, in cooperation with the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, is investigating instances of russian military crimes in Hostomel, the Kyiv oblast, at the start of the war, in which, among others, a German citizen was injured. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing the German publication Tagesschau.

According to the publication, the spokesperson for the prosecutor's office, in response to a request from the dpa news agency in Karlsruhe, stated that the authorities initiated the investigation in mid-July. It is alleged that russian forces shelled and wounded civilians, including a person with German citizenship, in the Ukrainian city.

"In connection with this, there is initial suspicion of the commission of war crimes. We are in close contact with Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to clarify this issue", - the publication quotes the prosecutor's office representative as saying.

Details of the incident in Hostomel, as reported by Tagesschau, are unknown.
