Hungary vetoed the Council of Europe resolution on peace in Ukraine, explaining that it allegedly did not consider russia's position. RBC-Ukraine reported this on May 17, citing a statement from Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

He stated that after russians were excluded from the Council of Europe, the possibility of achieving peace within this platform was lost.

"Instead of fantasizing about nuclear war, we finally need real peace negotiations. Real peace talks can only take place when all warring parties are at the table", - Szijjártó said.
