On September 20, the Prosecutor General's Office conducted searches at the premises of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, a state-owned company that operates major electricity grids. Contracts with contractors who worked with the company from 2019 to 2023 are being seized, according to a ruling by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, as reported by LIGA.net. Ukrenergo has also confirmed the search.

The search is part of a criminal case No. 42023000000000452 registered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on September 16.

Among the contractors listed are companies such as LLC Centrobud, LLC Secur Integration, LLC Top Trading Line, LLC NPC Inbiotech, Municipal water supply and sewerage enterprise Soyuz, LLC Energo Kraina, LLC Khoros, PE Firm Interenergoservice, LLC Eliz, LLC Kontur-M, LLC MGK Cherkasy, LLC Bud-Agro-Energo-Group, LLC Struktum, and others. These companies supplied goods and services to Ukrenergo from 2019 to 2023.

Sources familiar with the case, as reported by LIGA.net, indicate that it was initiated based on the results of an audit conducted by the State Audit Service of Ukrenergo. The audit report was prepared in March 2023.

The Ukrenergo press service has confirmed the fact of searches.

The current Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, has long sought to replace the head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, who took over the company in 2020.

The most significant attempt to do so took place in November-December 2021 when the terms of the Ukrenergo Supervisory Board expired, and a new board had not yet been appointed. At that time, the Ministry of Energy issued an order to replace 5 out of 7 members of Ukrenergo's board. However, after the order was made public, it was not implemented.
