“On August 17, the Supreme Court of russia rejected Yabloko’s appeal in the case concerning its removal from the State Duma elections. The case was heard by a panel chaired by Vladimir Zaitsev — the same judge who in 2018 ruled that the barring of Alexei Navalny from participating in the presidential election was lawful”, - the “DW Glavnoe” Telegram channel reports.
It is noted that the court rejected all motions from Yabloko. Among other things, the court refused to admit to the case materials the written consent of the heir of poet Lev Oshanin to use the lyrics of the song “Let There Always Be Sunshine”, ChatGPT’s public rules allowing the use of generated images, as well as official consent from the head of the Levada Center to Yabloko’s use of data from the center’s research in campaign materials.
During the hearing, dozens of party supporters gathered outside the Supreme Court building in moscow. According to media reports, more than 70 people were detained. Many of them were later released without a police report.
