This was announced during an online briefing by Serhii Honcharov, Head of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense at the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.
"There are currently 19 communities that belong to the active combat zones... As for the population, 122 people remain in the Bakhmut district, 8,720 in the Kramatorsk district, 4,150 in the Pokrovsk district, and 21 in the Volnovakha district. That makes a total of 13,013 people, including two children who are in the city of Mykolaivka", - Honcharov said, adding that this is operational information as of July 21, 2026.
He clarified that the active combat zones in the Donetsk oblast include five communities in the Bakhmut district, five communities in the Kramatorsk district, seven communities in the Pokrovsk district, and two communities in the Volnovakha district.
According to Honcharov, since February 2022, nearly 1.406 million civilians, including around 212,000 children, have been evacuated from their permanent places of residence in the government-controlled territory of the Donetsk oblast.
A total of 124,478 civilians currently remain in the territory of the Donetsk oblast controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, including 6,624 children, the Oblast Military Administration official noted.
