U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting in the Philippines on July 23, during which the "Ukrainian issue" was discussed, according to the website of russia's Foreign Ministry.
Foreign media reported that the meeting was brief, lasting only 35 minutes.
According to russia's Foreign Ministry, Lavrov reproached the United States and Europe during the meeting, saying that he "provided his American counterpart with information about the real situation along the line of combat contact and emphasized the inadmissibility of further pumping the Kyiv regime with weapons and, more broadly, the destabilizing policy of European countries, which are still seeking to inflict a 'strategic defeat' on russia".
Lavrov also once again declared the kremlin's "commitment" to the proposals "put forward by the American side" during the meeting between putin and Trump in Alaska, and "to which the russian leader agreed".
Lavrov has once again referred to certain "proposals" allegedly presented in Anchorage, but once again failed to specify what they entail. Meanwhile, Marco Rubio recently reiterated that "no agreements" were reached in Alaska.
