Russian propagandist Marina Akhmedova tries to argue that the killing of American mercenary and "war correspondent" Russell Bonner Bentley in Donetsk was caused by a "small malignant tumor" within the russian army. Akhmedova presented her thoughts on this matter in her Telegram channel.

"Today (a month later - OstroV), the murder of an American living in Donetsk was openly discussed. Today, Dmitry Kiselyov said - 'This is our war correspondent. The crime must be investigated, there is a principle of inevitability of punishment. Everyone is equal before the law'", - she wrote.

The propagandist acknowledged that "the issue is seeping into the official space" and deduces from this that "the small malignant tumor that has appeared in our army will not grow into a disease".

Akhmedova attempts to portray the atrocities committed by occupiers in Ukraine as exceptional. "Those who tortured and killed him are not soldiers. Rather, they are formally soldiers of our army, but in fact, they are murderers. Several ordinary murderers who tortured a man who idolized them - Russian soldiers - and came to their aid", - she writes.

American Russell Bentley, nicknamed "Texas", arrived in Donbas in 2014. He fought against Ukraine as part of the "DNR" militants before working for russian propaganda. In early April 2024, he was kidnapped and killed by russian military personnel. His body was found in a burned car.

In contemporary russia, any mention of military crimes committed by the russian armed forces in Ukraine is equated with a criminal offense and is punished with lengthy terms of imprisonment.

Earlier it was also reported that in the occupied Melitopol, russian military personnel brutally murdered a local girl who had joined them for the May holidays celebration.
