The French Foreign Ministry has labeled as disinformation reports in the media about the alleged deployment of Foreign Legion soldiers to Ukraine. The French Foreign Ministry announced this on its social media account on May 6th.
"The disinformation campaigns about France's support for Ukraine are ongoing, as evidenced. No, France did not deploy troops to Ukraine", - the Foreign Ministry statement said.
Earlier, the Asia Times resource, citing former Deputy Pentagon Chief of Staff Stephen Biegun's assistant, wrote about the dispatch of about a hundred Foreign Legion soldiers from the 3rd French Infantry Regiment, allegedly stationed in Sloviansk to support the 54th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that there are two conditions for the deployment of Western troops to Ukraine, including a request from Kyiv.
