Russian Sberbank is looking for ways to quickly exit from the Ukrainian market. This was said to journalists by its head Herman Gref following the results of meeting of the supervisory board, - RNS reports.

"We are looking for ways to get out of Ukraine. We do not have much time with such position of the government (of Ukraine – Ostrov). I would comment nothing until we reach the final decision", - he said, adding that the assets of Ukrainian "daughter" of the Russian Sberbank account for 0.1% of the group's assets.

As previously reported, Sberbank announced on March 7 that it would start the customer service with null and void "passports" of the terrorist "DPP/LPR". The National Bank of Ukraine imposed sanctions against the banks with Russian state capital operating in the country in response to this. This concerns Sberbank, VS Bank, Prominvestbank, VTB and BM Bank. This list did not include banks with private ownership — Citibank and Alfa-Bank. The sanctions prohibit the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine in favor of the related parties. In particular, the restrictions concern operations with the parent banks in Russia.
