Only 70%, or 19,700 educational institutions in Ukraine, have verified shelters to provide protection for students, attendees, and teaching staff. This was reported by Viktor Vitovetsky, the Director of the Department for Civil Protection Event Organization at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Military Media Center.

According to him, this number of shelters allows for the protection of 57% of participants in the educational process.

"This means that out of the total number of educational institutions, 70% can operate in offline mode, but some will need to run multiple shifts because they won't be able to accommodate the full calculated number of students, teachers, and other participants in the educational process simultaneously in the shelters", - noted Vitovetsky.

As previously reported, the first underground school in Ukraine will be built in Kharkiv.
