The defense forces are holding their positions in Avdiivka, the Donetsk oblast. President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced this on Telegram on October 12.
"Avdiivka. We are holding our ground. It is Ukrainian courage and unity that will determine how this war will end. We must all remember this", - Zelensky wrote.
Earlier, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that russian occupiers failed to encircle Avdiivka.
As previously reported, Avdiivka was subjected to numerous shelling incidents on October 11.
