The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported the bill on the transfer of ownership of 500 thousand hectares of land to farmers. The relevant decision was made at a government session today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"Ukrainians should own Ukrainian land, and farmers should own agricultural land, not the large agroholdings. So we are introducing a very important bill and restoring social justice in regard to Ukrainian farmers… We will now pass the draft law that will allow transferring of ownership of 500 thousand hectares of land to 23 000 farmers who work in this land, cultivate it, but because of the lack of justice, they did not have the right to own it", - Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said.
He also recalled that the government would invest $38 million to support Ukrainian farming.
"I am ready to be the lobbyist of Ukrainian farmers… I call on everyone to unite around the idea of supporting farming", - the Prime Minister noted.
