One Ukrainian soldier was killed, five wounded in ATO zone on Tuesday, despite the current "New Year" truce. This is reported by press center of the ATO headquarters.

It is noted that the militants continue to shell positions of the ATO forces and disrupt the agreements of the Tripartite Contact Group on ceasefire during the New Year and Christmas holidays.

"As a result of enemy shelling, three soldiers were wounded, two were injured and, unfortunately, Ukraine lost one defender", - the statement said.

In the Luhansk direction, the enemy did not observe the terms of truce in the area of the Svitlodarsk arc. Near Luhanske, they used 82-mm mortars and large-caliber machine guns to fire at the defensive fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for about two hours. Also, militants shelled the defenders of Stanytsia Luhanska using small arms.

Moreover, the enemy UAV was registered flying in the area of Luhanske. It corrected the enemy's mortar fire.

Violations of the ceasefire have not been registered at other key areas of defence.
