President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed that dictator putin meet with him in Turkey. Zelensky, who met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul the previous day, said this in an exclusive interview with CNN TÜRK, TSN reports.
Zelensky said that one of the topics discussed with Erdoğan was russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, especially with winter approaching.
“Russia continues its ballistic missile attacks, and this is critically important as the winter months are approaching. February 24 will mark five years since the full-scale invasion began. This war must end. We must unite; we must at least move the hot phase of this war into the diplomatic realm. At this stage, I hope for Turkey’s mediation. Personally, I believe that our relations with President Erdoğan, as well as his relations with Trump and putin, could also be useful”, - he said.
The meeting with Erdoğan also addressed the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting of the leaders—Zelensky, Trump, and putin—in Turkey.
