“The conversation with British Prime Minister Burnham went very well, and we are grateful to the United Kingdom for its unwavering, strong, and truly leading support. Today, the UK made an important decision to provide additional financial support totaling £10 billion: £7 billion in economic support over the next three years, and another £3 billion in British export support, primarily to supply the weapons we need to strengthen our protection of human life”, - President Zelensky said on social media on October 28.
He emphasized that “this is in addition to the annual support that the UK is already providing to Ukraine”.
“A truly strong and very timely step — precisely when russia must see and feel that Ukraine will not be left alone to deal with the problems that russia is so eager to escalate. Every step toward strengthening Ukraine brings russia closer to realizing that it must end this war of its own making”, - Zelensky noted.
“Of course, Andy Burnham and I also discussed sanctions policy, and the UK will continue to maintain its principled position on this issue. This is an example of global importance. I am grateful to the United Kingdom, grateful to Prime Minister Burnham and his team, and grateful to everyone around the world who understands that standing with Ukraine means being on the right side of history”, - the President emphasized.
