On the occasion of the third anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced €3.5 billion in aid for Ukraine. She made this statement during her visit to Kyiv.

"I can announce that a new payment of €3.5 billion for Ukraine will arrive in March. To date, our Union and member states have supported Ukraine with €134 billion. This is more than anyone else", - stated Ursula von der Leyen.

The EC President also spoke about ambitious plans regarding energy security and the use of Ukraine’s gas storage facilities.

"We have prepared an ambitious energy security package. The goal is to ensure a sustainable, secure, and competitive energy system for Ukraine. By the end of next year, we will fully integrate the electricity markets of Ukraine and Moldova with our electricity market. And we will fully utilize the potential of Ukraine’s vast gas storage facilities, 80% of which are located near EU member states", - said Ursula von der Leyen.
