US Secretary of State John Kerry assessed positively chances of Ukrainian settlement of the conflict after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, - reports Interfax-Ukraine.
"We had productive discussions with President Putin, I am grateful for that, but we have to do a lot of homework and I think that there are opportunities to provide a real settlement (of the situation in Ukraine - ed.)," - said John Kerry on Friday.
However, according to John Kerry, there are still some unsettled issues between Moscow and Washington, but he expressed hope that they would be eliminated in the course of today's talks.
US Secretary of State also said that his yesterday's conversation with Vladimir Putin was "very direct and frank."
