European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that Ukraine has completed all necessary steps to begin EU accession negotiations by the end of this month. She made this statement at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin on Tuesday, according to European Pravda.

Von der Leyen recalled Ukraine's recent approval of a reform plan, the implementation of which is a condition for the EU's multi-billion macro-financial assistance in the coming years.

In this context, she emphasized that Ukraine deserves to have EU member states begin accession negotiations with it.

"Ukraine has completed all the steps we outlined. That is why we believe the EU should start accession negotiations with Ukraine by the end of this month", - said von der Leyen.

On June 7, the European Commission confirmed that it had given a positive oral assessment of the progress of Ukraine and Moldova's Euro-integration reforms, as outlined in the November EU expansion report.

The European Commission supports the start of Ukraine's accession negotiations with the European Union. This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram on June 7, citing the European Commission's conclusion.
