Following a meeting with his Slovak counterpart, Robert Fico, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced Slovakia's support for allocating €50 billion to Ukraine from the European Union on January 24th. He shared this information on Telegram.

"We have just concluded a meeting with Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia. We have reached agreements on several issues. The Slovak government will not block Ukraine's purchase of weapons and equipment from Slovak businesses. We will collaborate on the supply of equipment by a Slovak company for the construction of defensive structures. Slovakia will support the Ukraine Facility program, which envisages the allocation of €50 billion to Ukraine from the European Union. Prime Minister Fico assured me of full support for Ukraine's Eurointegration aspirations", - wrote Shmyhal.

He emphasized that Ukraine and Slovakia will continue fruitful cooperation for the security and prosperity of both nations.

As previously reported, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal stated that, despite differences, Ukraine intends to adopt a policy of "new pragmatism" with the government of Slovakia.
