On April 25th, at a session in Strasbourg, the European Parliament adopted a resolution titled "On undemocratic presidential elections in russia and their illegitimate extension to occupied territories". The resolution was supported by 493 deputies, 11 voted "against", and 18 abstained. This was reported by Ukrinform.

In the document, the deputies conclude that the so-called presidential elections in russia were illegitimate and undemocratic.

As reported, the resolution strongly condemns all electoral violations committed by putin's regime during the so-called presidential elections in russia on March 15-17, 2024, as well as previous prolonged and systemic repression and violations of civil and political rights.

The document emphasizes that the so-called presidential elections in russia took place in an atmosphere of fear and repression, as well as in the context of an illegal, unprovoked, and unjustified aggressive war against Ukraine.

Earlier, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) recognized the russian dictator putin as illegitimate.
