The United States will not support Ukraine's military financing at the 2022-2023 level – the State Department 01/05/2024 11:45:03. Total views 438. Views today — 0.

The United States will not continue to support Ukraine's military financing at the levels of 2022-2023 as they aim to assist Ukraine in building its own defense-industrial base. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated this during a briefing, as reported by European Pravda.

"We will continue to support Ukraine... as much as is needed. This does not mean that we will continue to support them at the same level of military financing as in 2022 and 2023", - he said.

According to Miller, the United States does not believe that there is a need to continue support at the previous level, as Washington's goal is to help Kyiv stand on its own feet and build its own defense-industrial base, enabling it to independently finance, produce, and procure weapons.

"But we are not yet at that point, which is why it is so important for Congress to pass the supplemental funding bill because we have not reached the level where Ukraine can defend itself relying solely on its own capabilities", - emphasized Miller.

As previously reported, if the U.S. Congress does not pass a budget to support Ukraine, military aid will have to be halted.
