The russians have once again shelled the center of Bakhmut in the Donetsk oblast - they hit one of the oldest buildings in the city - Donetskgeology. This was reported by head of the City Military Administration (CMA) Olexiy Reva on February 3.
"The city center is under heavy enemy shelling again. Preliminarily, no casualties", - he writes.
Reva noted that the Donetskgeology building was destroyed by shelling.
"We ended up in Donetskgeology. One of the oldest buildings in the city was destroyed", - the head of the CMA reported.
Local social networks report that the building was on fire throughout its entire length from the clinic to Svoboda Street. They also write that the fire spread to a residential building, standing close to the Donetskgeology on 42 Mira Street.
According to Vechirniy Bakhmut, the fire was most likely not extinguished due to continuous shelling.
The media outlet also recalled that the 90-year-old building of Donetskgeology was built in the 30s of the last century, its central part was destroyed during the Second World War and then restored. By the 80s, it housed the Artemgeology trust, which was later transformed into Donbasgeology. In February 1998, a new Donetskgeology state enterprise was established.
