In his speech to the U.S. Congress, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told about his trip to Bakhmut, a city that russia has been trying to capture since May, and handed over to the Congress the Ukrainian flag with the signatures of the defenders of the city.
"Despite the constant shelling and mercenary attacks, the Ukrainian Donbas survived", - Zelensky stated.
According to him, despite the superiority of russia in the number of missiles and shells, the city continues to defend itself.
"Our heroes gave me a flag and asked me to pass it to the U.S. Congress, and asked it to make the decisions necessary for our victory. Because we are united - Ukraine, the USA and the entire free world", - the President of Ukraine stated.
Zelensky also drew a parallel between the battle for Bakhmut and the Ardennes operation of the Second World War and promised that Ukraine would not surrender.
