If Russian President Vladimir Putin signs a decree recognizing the "DNR" and "LNR", the Minsk agreements will cease to be valid. Representative of the CADLO of Ukraine in the Minsk TCG Serhiy Harmash said this in a commentary to OstroV.

"If Vladimir Putin signs this decree, he will actually stop the Minsk process, the Minsk agreements will cease to have effect and the conservation of the conflict will begin. In this case, Russia will lose its main tool of influence on Ukraine in the future", - he reported.

According to him, it is now unprofitable for Russia to recognize the independence of the so-called "DNR" and "LNR".

"Putin is unlikely to do this, but the tension will be maintained", - he noted.

Harmash noted that Vladimir Putin would sign this decree only in case of a threat to Russia of losing this territory.

As previously reported, deputies of the State Duma of Russia had supported sending of an appeal to the President of the Russian Federation on the recognition of the so-called "DNR" and "LNR" by a majority of votes.
