The Bulgarian President stated that the situation in the Black Sea region leads to tensions in international relations and is directly related to the security of Bulgaria and its allies. At the same time, the Crimea remains Ukrainian territory", - Radev stressed.
"The Crimea belongs to Ukraine in legal terms, and our country has repeatedly declared its support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At present, the Crimea is under Russia's control, and it is more than clear that this problem cannot be solved by force", - the president of Bulgaria stated.
As previously reported, the then presidential candidate Rumen Radev stated on November 19 during the election debate that the Crimea belonged to Russia. In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry demanded a refutation of the statement. On November 20, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev explained that he called the Crimea Russian because the peninsula is now controlled by Russia.
