Yuriy Lutsenko has applied for the dismissal from the office of Prosecutor General. Press secretary of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Larysa Sarhan wrote this on her Facebook.

"Yuriy Lutsenko signed a statement addressed to President Zelensky on the dismissal from the office of Prosecutor General", - she reported.

On June 11, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ruslan Riaboshapka reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky had signed a submission to the Verkhovna Rada on the dismissal of Yuriy Lutsenko from the post of Prosecutor General. On July 2, Zelensky appealed to the parliament for the dismissal of Lutsenko again. Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation did not consider this issue in the session hall.

Yuriy Lutsenko himself stated in early August that he would step down at his own request when the new Verkhovna Rada began its work.
