Ukraine will not accept amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding the "special status of Donbass", what Russia is seeking for. This position was voiced today by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, - the website of the head of Ukrainian state reports.
"Zelensky emphasized that he would protect the rights of all Ukrainians, regardless of where they are, and there is no need to amend the Constitution of Ukraine for this", - the statement said.
The Kremlin stated that Putin recalled Zelensky in a telephone conversation of the need for "consistent implementation of the Minsk agreements, including the legal aspects of granting the DNR and LNR a special status".
As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation today with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 7 due to the death of 4 Ukrainian servicemen in the area of Pavlopil in Donbass.
Four Ukrainian soldiers died under the militants' fire in the Donbass on August 6.
A "grain truce" began in Donbass since July 21, providing for an unlimited ban on any firing.
