It is necessary to resettle the inhabitants of Donbass to a safe place because of the increased level of radiation. This was stated by the deputy minister on issues of temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine Heorhiy Tuka on the air of 5 Channel, referring to the report of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
According to him, due to flooding of mines and raising the water level in the Donbass, the level of radiation will increase, so it is necessary to gradually move people from the region.
"It's not about saving the Donbass at all, you can give it up for lost: I am talking about the gradual liberation of this region from people, because people will not be able to exist there for 10 more years", - he predicted.
In particular, the deputy minister said that 88% of the reserve sources of drinking water in the Luhansk oblast controlled by Ukraine have already been declared unfit for use.
According to Tuka, pollution and radiation will affect the territory of Russia as well.
Proceeding from this, he believes that the issues of a possible ecological catastrophe in the Donbass should be discussed internationally.
