"Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi delivered a report. We paid special attention to the defense of Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, and the Donetsk oblast as a whole. I am grateful to all units that are fully carrying out their combat missions, repelling russian assaults, eliminating enemy infiltrations, and systematically destroying the occupiers. We have a clear understanding of how to strengthen this sector", - President Zelensky said on social media on August 7.
The President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also discussed measures to impose long-range sanctions against russia over the war.
"Good results have been achieved regarding the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery. We are continuing the relevant operations. Mykhailo Drapatyi also reported on work in the field of missile defense, including his communication with the American side. At every level, we are working to obtain additional batches of air defense missiles. All our partners understand what is needed and how this affects not only saving lives and protecting our cities but also russia's attitude toward diplomacy. The more putin believes in his reliance on ballistic missiles, the less inclined he will be to respond positively to diplomatic proposals. Therefore, strengthening Ukraine's defenses is a direct investment in diplomacy", - Zelensky also noted.
Zelensky and Drapatyi also discussed personnel issues within the Armed Forces of Ukraine that require resolution.
