Most russians are understanding of internet outages and the blocking of foreign messengers, said the press secretary of the president of russia Dmitry Peskov, writes “The Moscow Times” Telegram channel on April 14.

“Currently, the situation is such that security considerations dictate the need to take certain measures. These measures are being taken and, of course, the majority of our citizens understand their expediency and necessity”, - Peskov said.

He acknowledged that restrictions on internet access cause inconvenience and assured that “everything will be restored and normalized” as soon as the authorities consider it possible.

At the same time, Peskov refused to consider that russia has taken a “path to the past” due to the restrictions.
