Drones belonging to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck the Nebo-U radar complex of the russian army on the territory of the russian federation, according to a source within the department, as reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

The radar complex, which was worth $100 million, monitored the sky up to 700 kilometers deep into Ukrainian territory, aiding russian forces in detecting Ukrainian Armed Forces assets and supporting bombers during attacks along the border.

"The radar complex, valued at $100 million, was struck by seven kamikaze drones of the aircraft type. Security Service sources confirmed that the Nebo-U complex is no longer operational and has likely turned into a sieve", - the source stated.

The Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty informant did not specify the exact time of the radar complex's destruction in the Bryansk oblast.

On the morning of April 16, the russian Ministry of Defense announced the "prevention of an attempt" by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack russian territory with drones, which they claimed were shot down over the Belgorod oblast. The ministry has not recently reported any strikes on the Bryansk oblast.

Earlier, the russian Ministry of Defense accused Ukraine of conducting an attack "using a small-sized aerial balloon".
