In the Donetsk oblast, a 98-year-old woman walked out of the occupied part of Ocheretyne. The "White Angels" police unit, together with the military, brought her to a aid point, the Ukrainian National Police reported on Telegram.

"Mrs Lidiia walked through the entire front under fire, covering about 10 km, fell twice - but at all costs sought to reach free Ukrainian territory", - the message said.

"The house that resident of Ocheretyne built with her own hands was destroyed by the russians, and her relatives were injured. Escaping from the occupiers, the woman, at the age of 98, did the impossible. She walked all day, without food and water, fell several times from exhaustion and, as she says, 'dozed off'. She held onto two canes and 'strengtht of character'. The pensioner miraculously remained alive and unharmed. By evening, tired Mrs Lidiia was seen on the road by the military and handed over to the "White Angels" police group. The police took the resident to a shelter for evacuees, where they take care of her", - the police said.

After her "march", the woman feels well. "I survived WW2 and I am surviving this war. I lost everything. But I walked out on my feet by my Ukraine", - the woman says.
