Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an agreement on security guarantees and long-term support for Ukraine in Berlin on February 16. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.

According to a representative of the German federal government, this is an "agreement on security guarantees and long-term support" for Ukraine, which has been defending itself against russian military aggression for almost two years.

The agreement places on a contractual basis the military assistance that Germany provides to Ukraine in countering russian aggression and provides for its future provision in the event of a renewed attack by russia on Ukraine.

"The agreement is intended to ensure the security of Ukraine until the country becomes a full member of NATO", - emphasized the Deutsche Welle report.

Earlier, it was reported that Zelensky had arrived in Germany.
