The russian ship "Caesar Kunikov" was loaded, carrying cargo from Novorossiysk to Sevastopol. It was precisely during the large landing ship's passage that it was struck by five Magura drones. This was stated by the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, in a comment to Fakty ICTV.
Budanov adds that the russians continue the rescue operation, although they have not achieved significant success.
"The crew consists of 90 people. The exact number they managed to rescue will be known a bit later since the search and rescue operation by the russians is still ongoing. They are looking for survivors, as they believe. So far, the results are not very encouraging", - says Budanov.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation was carried out by Group 13, a specialized unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It was previously reported that on February 14, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the destruction of the russian ship "Caesar Kunikov".
