On February 20, Polish farmers will block all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine, as well as access roads to railway transshipment stations and seaports. This statement was made by the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union of Individual Farmers Solidarity, and its announcement is reported by RMF FM, according to European Pravda.

"Not only border crossings will be blocked, but also transport hubs, access roads to railway transshipment stations, and seaports", - the union's communiqué states.

On February 9, Solidarity announced a 30-day general strike by farmers. The farmers say they are protesting against the uncontrolled influx of goods from Ukraine to Poland due to the EU's decision. According to them, the lack of regulation puts the profitability of agricultural production, processing, and other agriculture-related industries in doubt.

"Therefore, on February 20, as part of the 30-day general strike of agrarians, we declare that all protest activities will be focused on a complete blockade of all Polish border crossings with Ukraine and protests in the field", - said the Solidarity trade union.

Protesters call on the public to support their action. They claim that their action is aimed at "ensuring food security in the country".

Farmers' protests have been ongoing for many weeks not only in Poland but also throughout Europe. Producers are not only opposing uncontrolled food imports from Ukraine but also against EU rules related to the European Green Deal.
