The so-called "LNR" pledges to build more than 70,000 square meters of housing, i.e. 1,000 apartments. Deputy Chairman of the russian government, Marat Khusnullin, made this announcement, as reported by local media.

"Now, six companies have become participants in the special economic zone (SEZ) – they plan to build multi-story buildings and residential complexes with a total area of over 70,000 square meters in Luhansk and Sverdlovsk, the LNR", - he said.

Khusnullin reminded that all this housing is intended for sale through the preferential mortgage program. According to him, the cost of the planned construction is almost $27,7 million, or $400 per square meter. Naturally, the price of the finished housing will be significantly higher. According to the information from the first deputy "Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the LNR", Tatiana Buryak, the cost per square meter in new buildings in Luhansk will range from $1050 to $1330.

As reported earlier, the conditions of the preferential mortgage program stipulate that any russian citizen who wishes to settle in the "new regions" can buy an apartment or house. In most cases, it is the relocating russians who have the financial means to purchase commercial real estate.
