The authorities of the "DNR" hope to restore electricity to local homes by at least December 22. This was stated by the "acting Minister of Coal and Energy", as reported by local media.
"People are asking why the work is taking so long. Despite a slight warming, and the ice beginning to thaw, power lines continue to be disconnected – tree branches fall, and the iron structures themselves cannot withstand", - he explained.
"We are trying to eliminate the damage and restore the lines to operation as quickly as possible. Ideally, it would be done by Energy Workers' Day (December 22 – OstroV), so that both the residents of the republic and the energy workers themselves could celebrate the holiday with electricity", - the official from the occupying administration hopes.
As reported, in the "DNR" almost 100 thousand private houses and apartments remain without electricity as of Tuesday morning.
