Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny visited the positions of Ukrainian defenders on the Eastern front, where they congratulated them on Ground Forces Day and discussed pressing needs. The Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram on December 12.
"Commander of the Joint Forces Operation Khortytsia, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrskyi, briefed the Minister and the Chief of the General Staff on the situation on the Eastern front. They also discussed the key needs of Ukrainian soldiers necessary for effectively eliminating the enemy", - noted the Ministry of Defense.
During the trip, issues related to the training of recruits and fortification strengthening along the entire contact line were also discussed.
"We are working on strengthening weapon supplies to the front, launching production, expanding the capabilities of purchasing UAVs (both reconnaissance and strike), and staying in daily contact with partners", - stated the Minister of Defense.
Rustem Umerov also presented state awards to the fighters.
It was previously reported that the russians launched a massive offensive on two fronts in the Donetsk oblast.
