The Mayor of Hamburg arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit, as reported by the Telegram channel "BILD in Russian".
It is noted that 58-year-old Peter Tschentscher (SPD) and the delegation from Hamburg arrived in the Ukrainian capital on a night train from Poland at the invitation of Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko. They were greeted at the station by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Martin Eger. The visit was not announced in advance for security reasons. This is Tschentscher's first trip to Ukraine since the full-scale war began. The politician plans to meet with the Klychko brothers as well as Ukrainian ministers.
"We are providing humanitarian aid and support in ensuring supplies", - said Tschentscher. "Our support in times of crisis should continue until the war ends and the possibility of reconstruction begins".
According to him, the Ukrainian people are facing russian aggression with courage, patience, and immense strength.
