In Switzerland, ways to achieve lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter and norms of international law will be discussed at the first Global Peace Summit, which will take place on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock. This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a corresponding post on X (Twitter) on May 2nd.

"According to our agreements with the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd, the first Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock, near the city of Lucerne in Switzerland. Heads of state and government from all continents are invited and expected to participate. The summit will serve as a platform for discussing ways to achieve comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter and norms of international law. All states invited to the summit have demonstrated their commitment to these principles", - wrote Zelensky.

He emphasized that he is confident that every peace-loving country is interested in participating in the summit, "as it is of great importance not only for Ukraine". According to Zelensky, this concerns the global role of each country, as well as genuine respect for international law and peaceful coexistence worldwide.

"These common rules, enshrined in the UN Charter, protect all countries from aggression and violence. Therefore, our common global duty is to protect them with real actions, not just words. This will be the focus of the first Peace Summit in Switzerland", - noted the President of Ukraine.

It was previously reported that Ukraine is preparing seven new security documents.
