The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially announced that Ukrainian forces targeted russian landing ships in occupied Crimea on the night of November 10. This was reported in the MID Telegram channel on November 10.
"As a result of a night operation in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, our warriors targeted small landing ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation. We are reffering to Project 11770 (Serna-class) boats", - the statement said.
It is noted that the ships had a crew on board and armored vehicles, including the armoured personnel carriers BTR-82, were loaded.
It is specified that the small landing boats of the Serna class were actively used by russia during the occupation of Zmiiny Island to transfer military equipment and personnel. In addition, the russians placed the TOR-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems on board the boats for mobile cover for their group on the island and in the Black Sea.
The small landing ship of the Serna class has high speed, can carry up to 45 tons of cargo and 92 armed personnel. Occupiers use these boats for landing advanced groups of marines or evacuation. In the absence of russian shipborne air defense means after a series of attacks by the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, such boats with anti-aircraft missile systems on board served as cover for russian Black Sea Fleet ships in raids.
"Now this idea of the russians is destroyed", - the MID statement said.
Earlier, it was reported that two russian high-speed landing craft were hit in occupied Crimea.
