Two young spouses, both 23 years old, lost their lives as a result of a russian missile hitting a multi-story building in the center of Zaporizhzhia on October 18. This was reported in a Telegram message by military journalist Andriy Tsaplienko, citing local residents.

"In Zaporizhzhia today, two young spouses lost their lives due to a missile strike. Both of them were 23 years old", - he wrote.

According to a neighbor of the deceased couple, the young people lived in an apartment with the young man's parents. They had recently gotten married. After the missile strike, the father attempted to resuscitate his son but was unsuccessful. The mother of the deceased young man is currently in the hospital.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), there is a serious risk of structural collapse at the location where the missile struck the multi-story building. Search and rescue operations are currently underway at the site as there may be people trapped under the debris.

As previously reported, the russian army launched six missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia during the night of October 18, with one of the missiles hitting a multi-story building in the city center, resulting in the destruction of eight apartments and the loss of two lives.
