French president Emmanuel Macron, speaking to journalists, expressed support for "stronger, concrete very clear security guarantees" for Ukraine and promised to discuss this with Chancellor Scholz on June 7. Macron made this statement at a press conference following the European Political Community summit in Moldova on June 1, according to Reuters.

"Vilnius must send a clear message to Ukraine and Ukrainians. I favour stronger, concrete very clear security guarantees", - Macron told reporters.

He then added he would hold talks on the issue with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Potsdam on June 7.

Earlier it was reported that Scholz thinks security guarantees for Ukraine should be different from the status of a NATO member.
