Conscription for military service in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts of Ukraine will not be carried out for now. This was announced today by the chairman of the russian state duma committee on defense, Andrey Kartapolov, according to russian media reports.

"There will be no conscription from these regions until a special order is issued, and draftees from other regions will not be sent there", - he promised.

Regarding the possibility of conscription in the "new (occupied - OstroV) territories", the russian deputy assured that they could return to this question "when the situation normalizes".

Meanwhile, according to federal constitutional laws on the so-called "entry" of oblasts seized by the russian army into the russian federation, conscription of allegedly russian citizens residing in them should begin in 2023.
