The use of aviation by russian troops over the past few weeks suggests that a real offensive has already begun. This was announced by military expert Roman Svitan on the air of Channel 24 on February 12.

"After January 7, the russians began offensive operations across the entire width of the Donetsk and Luhansk fronts... And confirmation that the offensive has already begun is the actions of (russian) aviation. For the last few months, when the russians were on the defensive, aviation did not go to the front. Application of aviation over the past few weeks suggests that this is already a real offensive, since aviation is very effective in offensive operations", - he said.

He also spoke about the "troubles" for the russians near Vuhledar.

"At first, they were given the task of taking Vuhledar - they failed, bypassing Vuhledar - they also failed. Therefore, according to an old habit from the last millennium, the russians began to attack in columns. These columns entered the paved roads, where the Ukrainian artillery adjusted fire over 8 years. The columns were knocked out, the russians began to scatter and hit the minefields... Therefore, we see a large amount of equipment there (left by the russians, - ed.), dozens of units in excellent condition", - he said.

Roman Svitan believes that the Ukrainian command acted in the area of Vuhledar very competently.

"On the counterattack, they regained their positions and occupied another part of the russian ones. If this continues in the Vuhledar region, then our long-awaited counteroffensive towards Volnovakha may be organized there", - the military expert noted.

As previously reported, according to British intelligence, over the past 2 weeks, the occupiers have suffered the greatest losses in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion.
