Ukrainian military exercises on the Leopard 2 will soon begin in Germany. Berlin wants to assemble two tank battalions from these tanks for Ukraine as soon as possible. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the German government on January 25.

"Our goal is to quickly assemble two tank battalions for Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks. As a first step, Germany is transferring 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks from the Bundeswehr. Other European partners will also transfer Leopard-2 tanks. Training of Ukrainian crews should begin in Germany in the near future", - the statement said.

In addition to the exercises, the assistance package will also include logistics, provision of ammunition and systems maintenance.

Let us recall that earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz decided to send Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine.
