Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, who submitted his resignation amid the conflict with NABU and SAPO, said that he is currently on a foreign assignment. According to him, a number of meetings with international partners are planned as part of the trip.
“I intend to inform international partners about the real state of affairs in the anti-corruption bodies system, signs of the concentration of uncontrolled influence by these bodies, and the risks that such practices create for Ukraine’s state sovereignty, the rule of law, and democratic institutions”, - Kravchenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, he said that he had signed a notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos for forging official documents and receiving an undue benefit on an especially large scale. NABU, meanwhile, said that at that time Kryvonos had not officially been served with a notice of suspicion.
Kravchenko also accused NABU and SAPO of allegedly stealing and copying classified materials from criminal proceedings during nighttime searches of his office, including materials related to the anti-corruption bodies themselves.
Kravchenko’s resignation is linked to the NABU “Carthage” case concerning alleged protection of fraudulent call centers. On September 7, the Prosecutor General submitted his resignation.
Following Kravchenko’s statements, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the Verkhovna Rada to immediately consider his dismissal, saying that the Prosecutor General had “one path” left — immediate resignation.
