The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted to appoint head of the parliamentary committee on legal policy, nominated by President Volodymyr Zelensky from the Servant of the People, and head of the parliamentary committee on legal policy Andriy Kostin as Prosecutor General. This was reported in Telegram on July 27 by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

As reported, 299 people's deputies supported Kostin's candidacy.

Let us recall that earlier, MP from Holos (Voice) Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported that the Law Enforcement Committee of the Verkhovna Rada had agreed with the candidacy of Andiy Kostin for the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Andriy Kostin is a People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from Servant of the People. He graduated from the Law Institute of the Odesa State University in 1995, received a certificate of the right to engage in advocacy and became a member of the Odesa Regional Bar Association. He has been Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy since January 14, 2020.

As previously reported, on July 17, 2022, Zelensky removed Iryna Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
