The Verkhovna Rada has appointed People's Deputy from the Servant of the People Denys Monastyrsky as Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

271 People's Deputies supported the decision.

Denys Monastyrsky graduated from the law department of the Khmelnytsky University of Management and Law and worked over the years as a lawyer at the Hillmont Partners company, Global Ties KC and Legal Consulting LLC

He was an advising assistant to People's Deputy Anton Herashchenko on a voluntary basis in the 8th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada.

Monastyrsky was elected a people's deputy from the Servant of the People party in 2019.

Denys Monastyrsky is a member of the Servant of the People faction and a head of the parliamentary committee on law enforcement activities.

As previously reported, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on Thursday, July 15.

On Tuesday, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote a letter of resignation from the post of Interior Minister, which he held for 7 years.

During a meeting of the Servant of the People faction on July 13, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Law Enforcement Denys Monastyrsky was introduced to the People's Deputies as a candidate for the post of Minister of Internal Affairs.
